Why our skins pigment changes?

Skin PigmentationPigmentation In dermatology, hyperpigmentation is the darkening of an area of skin or nails caused by increased melanin. Hyperpigmentation may be caused by sun damage, inflammation, or other skin injuries, including those related to acne vulgaris. More commonly a result of post treatment complications. Melanin is produced in an infected area when contaminated with bacteria.

People with darker Asian, East Indian, Mediterranean or African skin tones are also more prone to hyperpigmentation, especially if they have excess sun exposure. Treatment of hyperpigmentation may include IPL Fotofacial, Sciton laser, Microdermabrasion, or a series of superficial peels.

In addition to topical applications, such as our personally prescribed medical skin care and sunscreen products. All treatments fail if the affected area is exposed to the sun with inadequate full spectrum UVA/UVB protection.

Treatments: The following treatments have proven effective in the management of different kinds of hyperpigmentation along with the consistent use of antioxidants and sunscreen: IPL FotoFacial, Sciton laser and microdermabrasion.

Tips for skin pigmentation

Many of the external causes of aging skin are determined by the health and lifestyle decisions you make every day. Making unhealthy choices can cause prematurely aging skin, and this makes you look older, faster.

An important part of any anti-aging skin care program is to know what you may be doing that is harming your skin and speeding up your skin's aging process.

Sun exposure: Sun exposure is very aging to skin. Unprotected skin that is exposed to the sun becomes more mottled in appearance. Freckles can turn into brown sun spots, the skin takes on a dry, leathery appearance, and wrinkles and sagging increase. The risk of skin cancer is significantly increased by sun exposure.
